Background
The background section briefly describes the project, the work environment, your roles and responsibilities on the project. All background information should be given in roughly 200 to 500 words. This part is divided into five sections, which are as follows:
The Project’s Nature: The technicalities of the project are explained in this part. You have to describe what kind of project you did and what area does it cater to in the career episode report.
Objectives: The objectives of the project are to be elaborated on in this section.
Nature of Your Work Area: The first portion of the background offers information about the project’s broad nature, but in this section, you provide facts about the project’s area on which you spent the most effort.
Hierarchy Chart of the Organization: You may use the organization chart to display your specific position in the project’s hierarchy during that specific Career Episode.
Roles and Responsibilities: At least six roles that you played during the project and that highlight the technical characteristics of the project must be mentioned. Calculations, design, analysis, fabrication/construction, testing, problem-solving, and even project management are all tasks that might be undertaken.
Personal Engineering Activity
The key element of the Career Episode is the personal engineering activity, which should be between 500 and 1000 words long. It displays the specifics of how you used your engineering abilities in practice. This section contains all of the explanations for the tasks you completed during the project.
The exact details of what you did and how you did it, as well as any technical difficulties or obstacles you encountered during the project and how you solved those problems, should be highlighted. The following is a list of critical facts that must be provided:
- A hierarchy-oriented explanation of the roles you played during the project, the specifics of which you already gave in your career episode’s duties and responsibilities section.
- You must ensure that you do not stray from the topic and that you do not use excessive jargon. Maintain a technical, succinct, and to-the-point explanation. Also, if possible, provide appropriate tables, figures, and computation data to support the description of activities.
- After you’ve defined your duties, pick two minor project areas where you ran into problems and explain how you overcame them one by one.
- You should describe the collaboration and leadership you demonstrated during the project in detail.
- In addition, you should highlight any unique techniques you used during the assignment.
- Finally, you must state the codes and standards that you employed during the project.
Summary
Finally, summarize all of the project’s duties that you completed/achieved, as well as the engineering-related abilities. This section can have a word count of 100-120 words. The following details can be added in the career episode’s summary section.
